It is twelve years since African Union Heads of State and Government adopted the Africa Mining Vision (AMV). In the Vision, the continent’s considerable mineral endowments were recognised as a key driver for structural transformation, industrialisation and sustainable growth. Africa has Green minerals in large deposits which are critical in the production of renewable energy technologies including solar and power batteries. Africa can capitalize on this advantage to create economic growth and jobs within the continent.
